Inspiration can come from many places, here Ann tells us what moved her in relation to the Santa Barbara Design House and Gardens front porch.

The front veranda of the home was a perfect location for the newly introduced Sutherland by Rose Tarlow Melrose House collection. Square Foot Studio wanted to achieve an inviting introduction to the front door without complicating or distracting from the architecture of the house. By placing two seating groups, one on each end of the space, we created a visiting area for the homeowner(s) and/or guests. The Rising Moon collection in teak is featured for the seating. With the strong, curved lines of the arms and the tight upholstery, the chairs and sofa make an architectural statement harking to the columns along the front of the façade. A small, white John Dickinson hoofed table is added as a whimsical, art accent to the sofa grouping which is complemented by a Modernist tray coffee table designed by John Hutton. Between the two lounge chairs a Clifton Road drum table has been lacquered to repeat the coloration of the upholstery. Wired baskets with comfortable cotton quilts, along with other added accessories, were provided next to the seating groups to make for an old fashioned front porch dating scene. The charm of the grounds and the unbelievable weather of Southern California both make this front porch an outside utopia.
